Sally Bailey
Subsequent to individual interviews with Florence Wald (nurse), and Morris Wessel (paediatrician), during which art therapist/chaplain Sally Bailey 'drops by', this interview gathers the group together to reflect on their experience of hospice through their work at the New Haven Hospice Home Care Programme in Connecticut, USA. Sally Bailey opens with comments about the bonding spirit of openness in the hospice movement, which prompts memories of how they all came together at New Haven. The conversation then evolves to include discussion of euthanasia, news of their old friend, Cicely Saunders, the handover from pioneers to the second generation, life before the impact of St Christopher's, and public opinion of hospice in the USA and Britain.
